I'm a first time cat owner and recently adopted an 8 month old male cat and we are having trouble with the feeding schedule.
Currently, I can only feed him twice a day - breakfast and dinner - because I'm away from home during the day due to work. I give him a total of 1/2 cup of food and my dad may give him a snack at midday.
However, I've noticed that he is quite restless at night and I'm wondering if this is because I give him food all at once rather than spreading it out throughout the day.
That being said, I'd love to get an automatic feeder so my cat has food throughout the day and night! In your opinion, what is the best automatic feeder for a reasonable price and how do I use it properly?
The problem with nighttime restlessness may actually be related to the feeding schedule. Cats are nocturnal creatures, and if food is given all at once, they may not feel satisfied and lose their sense of calm. An automatic feeder is a great solution to feed your pet more regularly.
Buying one is a great choice, especially if you have trouble feeding at a certain time, because the WOPET automatic pet feeder allows you to pre-set the portions of food and the time of feeding, which is perfect for cases like yours. You can program it so that the cat gets food several times a day. You can also set a different portion for each meal, which will help to avoid overloading the stomach.
