Hello all!
I am having an issue with a brand new VPI Prime 21 Turntable keeping a constant tracking force.
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue?
The problem is with the thumbscrew knob at the rear end of the 10" gimbal tonearm loosely fitting.
The counterweight is fixed with the hex head screw on the sliding mechanism that the adjustment knob moves fore and aft to adjust the position of the counterweight on the stub.
The counterweight itself is tight on the sliding mechanism, but the adjustment thumbscrew knob can loosely turn clockwise or counterclockwise to move the counterweight. This causes my tracking force to drift off and constantly need adjustment to keep it where I set it in grams of downforce.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to add resistance to the adjustment thumbscrew knob so that it won't be loose?
Thanks!
