The HW-19 Mk. III is the logical next step in the progression towards realistic musical reproduction. All the weak points of the Jr. are addressed in the Mk. III. Better yet, the improvements incorporated in the Mk. III are available as upgrades to the Jr.

For improved bass, imaging, focus, detail, and lower noise, the answer is the Mk IV. The HW-19 Mk.IV turntable includes the same wood base, precision AC-Synchronous motor/pulley/belt drive assembly, and stainless steel-acrylic sub-chassis as the Mk. III.

The beginning of the journey into High-End analog music reproduction starts with the HW-19 Jr. The Jr. is VPI's most cost effective turntable. It combines the drive system of the MK. III & MK. IV, with a cost effective platter and subchassis, to give real value for the dollar.

TNT was designed as a state of the art table to take advantage of the newly designed linear tracking air-bearing tonearms represented by the Eminent Technology, Souther, and Airtangent.

Sonically, the TNT Jr. is a significant step up from the HW-19 Mk.IV. Its huge sound stage and rock-solid presentation are unprecedented at its price point. The Jr. is capable of clearly defining the rear of the concert hall and the very outer edges of the soundfield.

The HR class of turntables was when VPI took full ownership over having a quality and world class tonearm of it's own.  Though VPI tables can still have other tonearms mounted, we were beginning to be identified as an authority in tonearm design.

The Aries was the perfect choice for those looking for near-TNT performance in an HW-19 sized package. The platter, comprised of an acrylic/aluminum/lead sandwich, and the bearing, incorporating Rulon bushings, a stainless steel shaft, and a tungsten carbide thrust plate. 

The Aries 2 was the next evolution of the original Aries 1 where it embraced the use of an inverted bearing and offered the option of a clear or black acrylic platters (Aries 2 Dark Knight), or an extended chassis (Aries 2 Extended) to house a JMW 12 tonearm.

Moving a step forward in design, the Aries made a drastic change from wood to an acrylic/aluminum/acrylic design chassis.  This was originally planned to be a "Mini-HR-X" look when people found the HR-X was too big for their racks.

The Scout 2 was a step up to the standard Scout by having the machined aluminum platter and bearing from the Classic turntable added as well as a height adapter to adjust the tonearm. 

The Scoutmaster took the best concepts of the Scout and stepped it up.  More mass, more low end!  It doubled up the chassis and added a steel center between.  At the time it had the same platter as the Aries 3 which was a thicker acrylic platter using an inverted bearing. 

The Scoutmaster combines key features from several of VPIs' most successful turntables. It uses the Classic platter and inverted bearing, a larger version of the steel Scout motor assembly with fused IEC socket and 300-RPM 24 pole motor, and a dual Scout chassis with a steel center.

Suddenly one day we were listening to the Scoutmaster and the thought hit us "This sounds so good what could we do to make it better" the end result was to cross the Scoutmaster and the HR-X producing the Super Scoutmaster or SSM as we called it.

The Super Scoutmaster Reference was the next step for the SSM by being upgraded with a Rim Drive motor assembly and JMW 10 tonearm with VTA on the fly base.

The VPI "Classic 2" was actually never intended to becoming a production table.  Instead the accessory of a VTA on the fly adjustment base was meant to be an upgrade to the existing "Classic" Turntable.  Once it was applied a reviewer identified it as being a "2" and Harry rolled with it.

Our top of the line Classic 3 represents a significant step forward in both performance and aesthetics pushing the envelope as far as we can to deliver the best sounding turntable VPI has ever made. (At the time)

The Classic 4 is really, chief designer and former co-owner, Harry Weisfeld's table. He didn't design this table for the consumer, he designed it for his own personal us so he could listen to a 12 inch arm on a Classic table

The VPI Classic Direct Drive Turntable is the newest turntable in the VPI Classic line. Our design takes advantage of 21st Century motor technology for accurate speed control utilizing a servo motor controller coupled with an active feedback loop to control the motion of the platter. 

The Classic Companion was our effort to bringing an easier to use gimbal tonearm to the Classic line while pairing the arm with a Grado Companion Cartridge.

In 2014 VPI started it's process of cleaning the production line and the names that represented it.  Going back to the original plan from when it was first release, the numbers were dropped, and the design was polished to make the standardized and consistent Classic Turntable. 

With our 2014 restructuring of the product line VPI also cleaned up the look and elevated the design of the Classic 3 by adding our world class 3D printed tonearm and re-branding it as the Classic Signature.

The first VPI product made after the death of one of our founders, Sheila Weisfeld.  The Traveler was made in her memory and was the first step towards bringing VPI products to a new generation.

After receiving feedback from the V1 Traveler, we made subtle changes to improve the apperance and performance of the VPI Traveler turntable.  This was our first time also working with 24V motors to try and make the Traveler universal.

Our first all in one turntable, the Nomad was meant to be a ready out of the box solution for all audiophiles and music lovers young and old.

The VPI Nomad V2, unlike it's predecessor, was fully up-gradable.  Originally when making the V1 Nomad we did not expect the table to be upgraded and viewed as an all in one solution that would be passed down when the owner upgraded.
