New Jersey Audio Society Meets at the VPI House

On Saturday, January 25th at 5:00 PM, the VPI House hosted the New Jersey Audio Society for an exciting evening of music, high-end audio, and great company. For anyone reading this in the New Jersey Area, now might be a great time to join the club! We set up three dedicated listening rooms, each featuring different configurations of world-class audio gear, and welcomed representatives from several prestigious brands to engage with attendees and share their expertise. This was a bit of a homecoming to the VPI House for 2025 as most events for 2024 were at the newer listening space, the VPI Dojo. While both spaces have their advantages everyone missed the more intimate home feel of the VPI House!

Keynote Speakers & Brand Representatives

We were honored to have industry experts join us for the event:

• Anthony Chiarella from Specialty Sound and Vision, representing Audiovector, The Gryphon Electronics, Hegel, and Brinkmann Turntables

• Mark Conti from MC Audio Tech

Each brought valuable insights into their respective brands and products, enhancing and educating everyone's experience.

Main Room: The Forever Series Model One Debut

The main room showcased our Model One, marking its first public listening event outside of an official audio show. The setup featured:

• Turntable: VPI Forever Series Model One

• Speakers: Audiovector Trapeze

• Amplification: MOON by Simaudio Integrated Amplifier

• Phono Stage: New Limited Avenger Phono

• Cartridge: VPI Shyla

• Cabling: Nordost

This setup provided an immersive and refined listening experience, though some younger attendees jokingly lamented the overwhelming presence of classical music choices!

The second room was a powerhouse setup featuring two Avenger Statement turntables, both mounted with our Goldy cartridge. Electronics were provided by Rogue Audio, with Nordost cabling tying the system together, driving the MC Audio Tech speakers.

Third Room: A Component Matching Experience

The third room offered a more interactive experience as it was built and tuned during the event with feedback and requests in mind. our own Tony West helped with the setup and tuning of this room.

Food & Community Support

No great audio event is complete without good food! We ordered a feast from Big Ed’s BBQ to keep everyone well-fed while they enjoyed the music and discussions. Supporting local businesses is something we take pride in, and Big Ed’s did not disappoint.

The New Jersey Audio Society gathering was a fantastic evening of music, gear, and insightful discussions. We always appreciate the opportunity to bring the audio community together to experience top-tier sound and share in our passion for high-fidelity music. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, our brand representatives, and, of course, the NJAS for making this event a success.
