Through the Flood and the Fire: How Team VPI Keeps the Music Spinning

A quick post to keep everyone updated and informed about what’s been happening at VPI
It’s been an interesting time, to say the least. Over the past few months, my team has been through the wringer — and I mean literally. We've faced heart surgeries, lung transplants, unexpected falls, cancer scares, tragic losses, and heavy family situations. It’s been one curveball after another for my team and family.
Despite it all, Jane Weisfeld and I were finally catching up and feeling good about attending the Florida Audio Expo. The show was fantastic, and I can't wait to share more about it soon. But when we got home… we walked into a flooded VPI House and showroom. And I don’t mean a little water. Imagine walking into what felt like the world’s most heartbreaking swimming pool — filled with audio gear, historical VPI pieces, irreplaceable records (that we purposely stashed for safekeeping), and so much more. To put it in perspective, the water went well above any standard floor-level management. It was a gut-punch.
But here’s the thing — none of this is an excuse. If you’ve reached out with a customer service question, concern, or order and haven’t gotten a response as quickly as you deserve — that’s on us, and I promise we’re working on it. Every single question or concern is valid, and we're putting our energy into getting back on track as quickly as possible.
The incredible part — and the part that makes me the most proud — is how our team has never stopped pushing forward. Through surgeries, setbacks, and now even a flood, they’ve kept building, innovating, and shipping turntables. Their resolve and determination have been nothing short of inspiring. When most people would have been knocked down, this team doubled down — ensuring music keeps spinning in homes around the world. And that’s something worth celebrating.
The good news is, we have some amazing new team members who are quickly learning the ropes and getting their feet wet (figuratively, of course — not like our basement). I’m really excited about what they’ll bring to the table moving forward, and I think you’ll start to feel a shift in momentum soon.
And speaking of momentum — we're on the cusp of launching (and re-launching) some amazing new things we have been working on. From educational videos, mentorship opportunities, and more. We also hope to see everyone in Dallas, Montreal, Chicago, and Munich. We’ve been quietly making exciting progress behind the scenes, and now we’re finally getting ready to share it all with you.

Through it all, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding during this wild ride. We're still standing, still pushing forward, and still absolutely in love with making music come alive in your homes. Well, this quick message got away form me, perhaps this would make a fine blog post!
Happy listening everyone!
Mat Weisfeld
